The introduction of DesInventar in the Fireman Body began in 1997, but it was only in 1998 when after the training workshop lectured by LA RED to people from the institution it formaly began with the proyect. During 1998 capacities were centered in designing the mechanisms for placing the information in the database, outlining the objectives and directions of the proyect and thinking and adding new fields to the database, so that the information on the basic profile (record card) could be complemented and also with the purpose of having a record of the technical equipment and human workteams to be movilized for the attention of emergencies and disasters.
New fields having to do with the type and number of vehicles destined for attention, participating staff, type of houses affected and epycenter coordinates in seism case, or places where storms took place were included. The accidents, not considered by desInventar's methodology are included because they are emergencies that the Firemen Body support, where the most relevant emergencies are treated as impacted areas. The losses by slides, flooding and structure collapsation, reflect at last the inadecuate conditions of soil use, the growing pressure of poblation over the Capital's territory and the deficient urban planning.
