| Description : |
The proyect of Desinventar implementation in the National System of Civil Defense of Bolivia formaly began in November 1998 with a workshop lectured by LA RED to diverse bolivian institutions that had to do with the attention, prevention and mitigation of disasters. The proyect of The National System of Civil Defense consists of building with these institutions an information network that will allow all institutions to feed DesInventar with disasters reported in each entity, having the final purpose of consolidating a centralized database in the information System. The agreements with all the institutions have not been formalized yet, neither the work mechanisms, but they are building the network. The information entries to DesInventar showed a result of 400 disasters during 1999, where the mayority of events were floods and droughts. There are currently 3 years of information in the database. The information source is official, it comes from SENADECI and its departments. Aditionally SENADECI has a historical disaster inventory (since 1990), data that is being entered to DesInventar.
Contact was made with Sologuren in May 2002, they mentioned that they have the last two years in DI (DesInventar) and that a historical Word archive containing information since the year 1900 is being entered to DI.
