The Investigation and Superior Studies Center on Social Antropology - CIESAS has had since 1996 a disaster report database for the whole national territory. The CIESAS has fed this base with the support of diverse proyects including two proyects of LA RED; the original proyect of "Inventarios de desastres en América Latina" or “ Disasters in Latin America inventories” and the proyect IAI - LARED "Gestión de riesgos de desastres ENSO en América Latina" or “Disaster risk management ENSO in Latin America”.
Mexico's DesInventar is a database that groups information about natural and anthropogenic disasters in the form of a prolongued series. The information sources are 3 newpapers, El universal, Excelsior and La Jornada.
