| Description : |
Due to the seisms of January 13 and February 13 of 2001, the Center of Coordination for Disaster Prevention in Central América - CEPREDENAC - decided to support the National Emergency Comission - COEN from El Salvador, to have a quick inventory of the seism effects. Two experts in DesInventar and LA RED participated. The database here included collects damage and effects of both of the seisms for a total of 306 reports, which correspond to 242 reports of the January seism and 64 reports of the February seism.

| Description : |
El Salvador's database has been brought up (impulsada) first by FUNDE , and then has had the support of PRISMA and the Planning Office of San Salvador's Metropolitan Area (OPAMSS). The information sources are mainly newspaper archives, such as El Diario Hoy and La Prensa Grafica newspapers, complemented with data from the Center for Disaster Protection - CEPRODE. There is a lack of information between 1985 and 1989 and also in the year 1992. The first one is attributed to the worsening of internal conflict in that period , the second one is attributed to the peace process which gathered greater attention of communication media.
