Extended record

The extended record makes possible to define a group of personalized variables for each database.

Define Extended record

Defining an extended record consists of entering an internal name for the field you want to store in your database, the name that appears on the screen, the type of data of that field and a short description. The valid types of data for a field in the extended record are:

  • Text: chains of alphanumeric characters with no more than 20 characters.

  • Integer-Numerical: numeric field for integer values not greater than 65535.

  • Decimal-Numerical: numeric field for values with a decimal dot.

  • Currency-Numerical: numeric field for extralarge values.

  • Memo Field: Extralarge chains of alphanumeric characters.

If you wish to add a new field, press the ADD button in the lower left part of the format.

If you wish to eliminate an existing field, press the ELIMINATE button in the lower part of the format.

Entering Extended record

To access the extended record press the EXTENSION button in the basic record; the previously defined fields will appear on the extended record. If you have selected the create or update option in the basic record, you will be able to make changes in the extended one. Once you are sure of storing it, press SAVE.
