Development of the Internationa Workshops in Perú.
Paracas (Perú)
March 30-31, 2000
As a conception, DesInventar, both methodology and software, has been
developed since the 1994 as a project of LA RED. In the first years they
were holded some workshops for the development of the methodology,
including discussions and evaluations of data bases for 8 countries of Latin
America, which were built by academic and research groups.
Since 1996 DesInventar started to being used by governmental organisms (like
the National Civil Protection System SINAPROC of Panama ), and by other
institutions in Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Honduras, Guatemala
and Antigua. Additionally LA RED has support technical missions postdisaster
in Honduras and Nicaragua (Mitch Hurricane, November of 1998) and in
Venezuela (rains of December of 1999).
With these antecedents it was opportune to develop an international workshop
that allowed the interaction between the DesInventar development groups from
LA RED and the its different users. In this way with LA RED hosted the
workshop that was organized by the Coordination of DesInventar in charge of
OSSO. The workshop DesInventar International Workshop in Latin America and
the Caribbean: balance and perspectives.
Here you will find the final report of the Workshop as well as the
presentations from the two participants from Argentina and Peru.
